The design plan is also the customer's first impression of the customized model. A good simulation model should not only be similar in appearance, but also in spirit. So refined design becomes essential.

设计之前，要先熟悉定制产品型号，搜集大量的参考资料，包括外观尺寸、细节部件、涂装样式等等。行三维建模，确定外部造型，及装配方式。再由三维数模分部件设计平面加工图纸。一架大型飞机模型加工图纸不会低于100张。

First, conduct 3D modeling to determine the external shape and assembly method. Then design the planar machining drawings based on the three-dimensional numerical and analog components. 地随着时代的发展，模型制作工艺也逐渐从纯手工加工向机械化加工或机械化辅助加工转变。的机械加工设备的加入可以更好地控制产品精度，对于提升模型仿真度起到了关键作用。尤其是在测试类型的样机加工项目中，对于尺寸的公差要求往往在0.2mm左右，这个量级的精度仅靠手工加工是无法达到的。以往印象中高大上的三轴、五轴加工中心也正在逐步参与到模型的制作当中。
